国际文传电讯社阿斯塔纳讯，哈总统纳扎尔巴耶夫在出席外国投资商理事会第30次会议时表示，到2020年底，哈计划建成使用超过50个可再生能源项目，发电能力达2000兆瓦；到2050年前，可替代能源的比重应提高至能源总量的50%。同时，他强调指出，对哈而言，发展混合型电力生产体系是最佳选择，即，在发展传统电力生产的同时大力推进可再生能源建设。哈可再生能源潜力巨大，风能每年约为9200亿千瓦时，水利储能每年约为620亿千瓦时，太阳能每年25亿千瓦时。
