太阳能帮助保护刚果的生物多样性

刚果维龙加国家公园位于刚果民主共和国东部地区,1979年被联合国教科文组织列为世界文化遗产。该公园占地7800多平方公里,包含了森林、大草原、熔岩平原、沼泽、侵蚀谷、活火山和鲁文佐里山脉的冰峰,是非洲最古老的国家公园,也是非洲大陆上生物多样性最丰富的保护区,是山地大猩猩、黑猩猩、霍加狓和其他在世界上濒临灭绝物种的家园。 近年来,由于刚果内战和无情的偷猎活动,许多野生动物种群遭到破坏。在维龙加公园护林员的的不断努力下,种群遭到的破坏出现了逆转的迹象。阿特斯有幸参与了其中一部分保护生物多样性的工作。 阿特斯与“Light”和“Give Power”基金会合作,将阿特斯CS6X-P太阳能组件捐赠给了刚果维龙加国家公园用于小型阳能光伏电网系统的建设,以减少对柴油的依赖。这个小型太阳能光伏发电系统为保护区内的三个安全部门提供电力,可以为安全灯、无线电供电,并可以帮助管理员提高保护公园野生动物的能力。
